Biography

Gordon first signed as a player for Abbey in 1975, His greatest moment as a player in the 1977 Gilgryst Cup Final when he scored one of the nost memorable goals ever seen on a football field.
He picked the ball up in his own half and powered his way to the edge of the opposing teams penalty area beating at least six of their players where he let a most awesome shot go that I still swear the keeper tried to get out of the way of never mind try to save it which went into the net like an Exocet missile.
Gordon has had most jobs in the Club and is one of the stalwarts of the Club.

Gordon was one of the Ten members of the Club who were awarded long service awards for his contribution to Grass Roots Football.
