Welcome to the website of Abbey Rangers F.C - Veterans.
The aim of this site is to provide information for and about the Veterans squad at Abbey Rangers FC.
Abbey Rangers Football Club was formed in 1976 initially to promote and provide football for young boys between the ages of 7 through to 16, naming itself after the historic Chertsey Abbey. The club has had several homes throughout Chertsey and Addlestone and played its football wherever a pitch was available.
Over the years Abbey Rangers FC has grown enormously and needed to plant it’s roots in one place, the club was fortunate in finding it’s new home and finally established itself in it’s current location at the old Mead school playing fields, Addlestone Moor, Surrey.
Our facilities comprise of 3 main soccer pitches, 3 minor league pitches and a floodlit training area. We also have a great clubhouse to welcome visiting teams and new members to.
The Vets side was formed in 2011, and has proved to be competetive ever since they were formed. The side is packed with players who like to play football with a smile on their face, and provides an outlet for a lot of 'old boys' at the club whose illustrious playing days might have been thought to be behind them :-)
The Vets like to 'tour' every year, involving a game to focus the mind/clear the head! Previous tours have included Nottingham, Sofia and Cheltenham. The 2015 tourists can look forward to a tour in York.
