History of Abercorn FC

*Abercorn Football Club formed end of 1877.

*Rech the Scottish Cup semi-final in 1887, losing to Cambuslang 1-10.

*Leaves the SFL in 1915 for the Western League with two second division championships.

* Wins the Scottish Qualifying Cup in 1912/13. Highest ever attendance during this run with 7,000 turning out for the win against Nithsdale Wanderers.

* Club play in the Western League until 1919/20, when the lease ran out on the New Ralston ground. No new lease was obtained, this spellled the end of Abercorn FC, who played there last game in 1920.
