Aberlady Football Club was reformed in 2004 with the current committee and coaching staff made up of local parents keen to let the kids play football.
The club now has over 40 boys and girls of the village and surrounding areas involved in the club and currently have four teams (Under 11's, Under 9's & Under 8's ) participating in the local East Lothian Leagues with emerging younger teams also.
Our aim is simple: To invite and then encourage children in the area to participate in the playing of football on a regular basis and to enjoy it.
Aberlady Football Club provides training to children from Primary 1 school age on a weekly basis. Our coaches have been through either Level 1 and/or Level 2 SFA Coaching Young Footballers courses as well as the required Disclosure Scotland requirements. The club is run by parents and coaches as there is a requirement for this within our community. We want the children to play sport and have fun whilst doing this. We recieve support from the local community group and the local school as we provide a sporting opportunity to over a third of it's pupils.
We are fortunate to receive financial support from our main sponsor; Wemyss and March Estate along with a number of local businesses - Fleurtations and Kilspindie House Hotel.
Our new project is to look to provide a new football and playing surface to the village that will also incorporate other sports such as hockey, tennis, volleyball & basketball.
