The club was originally formed in the mid 50's, playing under a variety of names, which included Pontymister Rovers, Pontymister Rangers and Pontymister, then were forced to again change its name in the late 70's to AC Pontymister following an enforced relocation of home ground from then Tanybryn to our current home of Pontymister Recreation Ground.
