History of AFC Burnley 2010-Present

June 2010- AFC Burnley held it's first training session at Hameldon Playing Fields, Padiham. From this day a tough recruitment plan was in place to get the club known and get enough players involved to start the season in september.

July/August 2010-  AFC  Burnley played their first ever game at Fennyfold, Padiham against Calderstones United. The club had a good turnout for this first game and it was a real test to see where the club was at. Over the next few weeks we held other freindlies in the local area, most notably our first win against Padiham Saints. We worked hard to get the team organised in preparation for our first ever season.

September 2010- AFC kicked off their first ever competetive game in a cup game vs Park FC. It was a loss but another great milestone in the clubs progress. We also kicked off our first league season with our home venue as Towneley Playing Fields. 

October - May 2010/11- AFC had completed their first season, finishing bottom but the positives were there for all to see. In this time we also started preparing to play in a summer league in Burnley.

June-August 2011- We competed in the Burnley and District Summer Football League and although we struggled and didn't get out of our group we learnt alot about the team as a whole. 

September 2011- We embarked on our second season together with the hopes of success. Our new home ground became Prairie Playing Fields. We found a win within he first 2 league games of the season against Commercial.              

October-May 2011/12- AFC had completed a second year in the Accrington Combination and made a mild statistical progress by avoiding the dreaded bottom place in the league. AFC finished 2nd bottom but were looking comfortable in mid table for the majority of the season, losing some vital games  at the end of the seaon.

September-November 2012- AFC kick started a 3rd season in the Accrington Combination and started well, 2 wins from the first 3 league games made a positive start but a run of losses has made the league position look rather bleak in mid November.
