CLUB HISTORY
THE JOURNEY SO FAR (20/04/08)

The Club was formed in the autumn of 2003 as an Under 11's mini-football side. In our league, that means we had made the transition from astroturf to grass, but were still only allowed to play 7/8 a-side football.
The Club was very popular with local boys and we soon had so many players that we had to field 2 teams at most venues.
Moving into junior football was a simple affair with such a large squad.
That first season (2005-2006) we finnished 4th overall in the league, taking some big scalps. For the first time ever, we had beaten Llantrisant (home and away), we beat Beddau Colts and every one of the local sides, many of which were established Clubs with decades of history.
The following year we were victims of illness, injury and lack of reliability from players who eventually left. We went to several games with just 9-10 players and lost to teams who we had previously beaten. Towards the end of the season we had a successful recruitment drive, were able to field 11, plus several subs and took 10 points from a possible 12 in the last 4 games.
This season (2007 - 2008) has not been good. Heavy defeats and poor performances through lack of effort and pride have made it very difficult. We do have a nucleus of players who work themselves into the ground every game and again towards the end of the season, although the results don't demonstrate it, the overall team performance is hugely better.
