In the final game of the season Sheffield were at their worst against one of the better sides in our division. Sheffield were penned in their own half and nearly conceded in the very first minute but a combination of keeper and defender managed to get the ball to safety. On 5 minutes a long clearance found its way to Ally Churchill, seeing the keeper off his goal line he attempted a shot from distance but saw his effort go wide. The home side then turned on the style and scored in the 15th, 38th, 39th, and 42nd minute to give them a 4:0 advantage at half time when it could have been a lot worse.
The second half was as bad as the first with the home side scoring another 4 goals. They scored in the 49th,56th ,65th and 86th minute to make it Sheffields worst defeat for of the season. It seemed strange that only 19 days ago we played them off the park for 45 minutes and were unlucky to lose 2:1. The only notable strikes on goal came from Jordan Holden late in the game as he saw a shot hitting the cross bar and another scramble clear for a corner. The final whistle was greeted with more relief from those watching than those playing. Full time 8:0.
No man of the match was awarded.
Referee 5/10.Seemed to be another official on first name terms with most of the opposition players. Did not get any major decisions wrong ,he just gave whatever they appealed for.
