A new management team took over for 2009/2010 with Jason stepping down following the resounding successes of the previous 6 years where 16 major trophies were won.
Garry Connelly took on the role of manager and John Moon as coach.
There were some additions to the squad with Pierre, Sean and Michael joining relacing Jamie, Brandon and Ciceron going in the other direction.
The management team had a very difficult act to follow trying to emulate the success of Jason but match it they did as the team reached the semi-final of the County Cup only to lose by the odd goal. They reached the semi final of the League Cup losing on penalties and were crowned League Champions.
Not bad as the management changed the style of play from a direct approach to a passing game.
The boys achieved this success despite some prolonged absences through injury to George (Hip Flexer), Billy (Broken Wrist), Tim (Back), Ross (Foot) and Charlie (Broken Arm).
The team only lost three games all season. Once in the league losing 3-2 away to St Josephs having been 2-0 up, in the County Cup Semi-Final 1-0 away to Luton Borough and on penalties to Shefford Saints in the League Cup Semi-Final having drawn 0-0 after extra-time.
The league record is particulaly impressive having won 14, drawn 3 and lost 1 scoring 46 goals and conceding just 10, the lowest number against in all Chiltern Youth Leagues for 09/10.
A great statistic that demonstrates the safe hands of the best keeper and defence in the league.
Top goalscorer was Kurtis closely followed by Lamarr his striking partner.
Awards for the season went to:

Managers Player Charlie Connelly
Most Improved Liam Reed

An excellent season that surpassed the expectations of the Manager and Coach who have clearly got an even tougher job to further improve in 2010/2011.
A very difficult task following on from last season, with the winning of so many trophies and titles. But we signed two new players in Ciceron and Jamie that added to a very strong squad.
The team started the season in great form winning the AFC Kempston Colts Tournament, and then went on a goal scoring spree during September notching up 32 goals scored for 1 against. We only played four more league games prior to Christmas, and each fixture in what can only be called Antarctic conditions. Unfortunately we have a few lads within our side that cannot bare the cold, and with the added rain and wind understandingly a few went missing in the big games. While the league fixtures ticked over it seemed we were playing as many in the County Cup, as we started in the 1st round.
We have had to overcome many injuries this season as well as players unavailable, but when George our goalkeeper broke a bone in his foot in what can only be called a freak accident, the squad had to pull together to keep their belief.
We lost some key League fixtures whilst George was side lined but also won some as well. Even though we have not won the league this season, we have the knowledge in knowing we have beaten every side within our league at least once.
The league has always been there for us to try and win again, but after the County Cup Final on a Friday evening on the main pitch at Kempston we had very little energy left for the game against a challenging Luton Utd. This draw in the end made a massive difference to our League hopes.
The County Cup however has been our main prize all season. I made the team fully aware the day they won the County Cup last season, that this season and this season alone, if we won the County Cup it would put us into the National Cup, Sponsored by TESCO. Well as the season progressed I reminded the team on many occasions that the County Cup was the main prize. And as big headed as it may seem to some of you, I had the belief we would do it again. During the fixtures reaching the final we scored 55 goals conceding only 4. The team took the game to Shefford Saints from the first whistle, but after having to go into half time losing, we knew we had a game on our hands. The team never lost their focus and pulled the game round to win 2-1. And this remember was with Lamarr in goal.
This put us into the National Cup at Birmingham University where we represented Bedfordshire against nine other counties. In what can only be called a challenging day, I believe we reached the final on merit, winning our league on goal difference as we dominated all of our matches in chances created.
The final itself could not have got off to a better start when we scored in the first minute, from Luke Wilson. The second goal that calmed everyones nerves was a while later in the last two minutes, when Kurtis Alleyne finished brilliantly with his left foot. This crowned us Champions with the title of
AFC KEMPSTON COLTS CENTRAL ENGLAND CHAMPIONS 2009
George Darlow was named goal keeper of the tournament, in which I must add, George won this award from his fine handling and great kicking, I say this because I cannot remember to many saves he was asked to make during the five matches, which leads me on to how well the defence must have played to not concede a single goal. Well done Liam, Charlie, Tim, Luke, Ross and Brandon.
In what has been without question my hardest season as manager of this side, I had very little choice but to admit to myself that I was not doing this side justice anymore.
We as a team have won fifteen major trophies in the last six seasons, an achievement I am very proud of.
Perhaps for some this seasons run in the county cup, playing at Leicester Citys Walkers Stadium next weekend representing Bedfordshire and Central England in the English Finals has been their highlight over the seasons. For me this will only be the case, if we go on to be crowned Champions of England.
For me the highlight over the last seven seasons has been without doubt the winning of all competitions entered in 2007-2008 season.
The AFC Kempston Colts Tournament
The MK Wanderers Tournament
The Chiltern Youth League Division 1
The Chiltern Youth League Cup
The Bedfordshire County Cup
A truly remarkable achievement, that took a special belief within the team.
I said I was not doing this side justice, and I mean that statement. I believe already this season a few parents have commented on where was Jason.
I do not see me ever doing any job in or out of football half hearted. And due to my current business dealings and the travelling where they take me, time has become more difficult to find than ever.
Therefore at Christmas I had made my decision to stand down, not leave this football team.
In my opinion the team have lost that winning mentality at times this season and have came across sides that know if they beat Kempston Colts, What a scalp it would be.
Many players have also missed too many training sessions this season for various reasons. A point Garry is keen to improve on next season, in which I back 100%.
There are many ways to win football matches, but a truly committed side will not lose many.

After a major shake up of the squad at the end of last season, four players left wishing them well for all they had done, Mathew,Calum, Sam, Harry S.
This was a tough decision to make but it allowed us to make room to invite new players to join who had impressed through the previous season. Gladly but not surprisingly Alistair and Billy joined which made our squad so much stronger in key areas.
Six players from the squad were asked to go on a six week trial with Luton Town at the beginning of the season, with five of them remaining training with Luton for the remaining part of the season.
Personally i have never hidden behind the fact that if i had to send five boys, they would not have been the same players. But in fairness to the boys that did attend they have all improved very well.
The football this season has been steadily improving, which is the priority, not just winning trophys.
The defensive unit was as mean as ever, Midfield as determined as ever, and strikers as lethal once again.
The squad statistics show that every player was used, and that everyone had there turn in being a substitute more than once.
It was great that we had success in the Cup competitions this season as these had eluded us in previous attempts.
This was without doubt Kempston Colts best ever season at any age group in there THIRTY year history.
AFC Kempston Colts Tournament CHAMPIONS 2007
MK Wanderers CHAMPIONS 2008
County Cup CHAMPIONS 2007/2008
League Cup CHAMPIONS 2007/2008
League Division 1 CHAMPIONS 2007/2008
The trophys look absolutely fantastic sat together and are a constant reminder to me how hard you all worked.
Squad:George, Brandon, Charlie Con, Timothy, Liam, Domain, Ross, Luke, Alistair, Billy, Devante, Kurtis, Charlie Cor, Lamarr, Harry.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
The league table never lies at the end of the season, that is what most football pundits will tell you.
I have to agree.
Perhaps luckily for our team that is easy to say, but as we went on to win our league by seven points, i can truly state that luck was not the reason.
Played sixteen, won fourteen, lost two.
Goals for 57, best in division.
Goals against 11, also best in division.
At times some beautiful football played within the right spirit of the game.
Other times perhaps a belief that defeat is not going to happen pulled us thru.
But all of the time a team spirit that just keeps on growing.
A difficult season for myself keeping seventeen players happy all the time.
But never the less, seventeen players that were all considered for each award this season.
Winning the division one league again for the third consecutive season is truly a remarkable achievment.
An achievment Jose Mourinho would have liked.

FANTASTIC ACHIEVMENT LADS!!!
ALL OF YOU.
Before Our season started we had added three new players to the squad, Ricky, Oscar and Brandon. Our first competitive matches of the season were at AFC Kempston Colts tournament which after being unbeaten in the previous two seasons in open football there was a lot of expectation upon the side. After some splendid team performances without conceding a single goal we came away runners up, losing the final on penalties to Oakley. So after the tournament success, we were of and running in the league the following week, playing Icknield who we knew from the previous season that they were going to be our greatest challenge. The match lived up to the expectancy with both coaches realising the first goal would probably be enough for the three points.Luke and Devante were in great form that day but it still took us nearly forty minutes to find that magical goal! but when it came it was a true team goal with great passing between Ross, Timothy and Liam setting up Ricky who expertly finished shooting across the keeper. As thought that goal was enough for the victory thanks to another clean sheet from George and that started us off in great style. We continued our winning start to the season into November when i suppose inevitably our first loss in two and a half seasons in open play competitive football came. The team lost 3-0 that day to Tottenhoe.Various reasons were discussed as why, but without dwelling on that day to much we had to respond. We also realised that day after watching Tottenhoe celebrate there victory, what a scalp we had become!
It became harder to play the whole squad in various fixtures.Certain games required stronger players. Not only ability but also strength and fitness had become a part. But after being beaten by Icknield in the return fixture 2-1 at the end of November we showed great character making it the last league defeat of the season. In the League cup we were treated to some excelent personal displays including Mathew's great wing play against Shillington. We were eventually beaten by a very committed Leighton Town 2-0 in the quarter final.
The league was eventually won away to Tottenhoe, in which we took great satisfaction, in that they were the side thet had beaten us for the first time competitively. There was some fine displays that day with Shaun and Lamarr leading the way, but it took two great goals from Kurtis to seal the victory we had longed for. CHAMPIONS! again. The league program was wrapped up the following week with another great team performance against Leighton Town which left us the statistics of played twenty, won seventeen, drew one, lost two.
ANOTHER FANTASTIC SEASON!!!
