Kempston Colts V  Crawley at Home  18/09/2011

The match kicked off at 10.30am and early into the first half, the boys put some good pressure on the apposing team, especially Marco. Matt made a good saving tackle followed by Ethan making an excellent saving tackle.

Crawley began to put the pressure on Kempston Colts, and won a penalty.  A good penalty was taken by Crawley, and George had no chance of saving it, although he put in every effort.  (Kempston Colts 0 - Crawley 1)

Josh played well, clearing the ball several times in the first half, as well as taking a shot which unfortunately went wide. Good try!

Dario was getting back well to help out in defence. Marco made another good run and crossed the ball across the face of goal, but no Kempston player managed to connect.

Jake received the ball out wide, turned well but his shot rebounded off the post. Joe made another good attempt at goal which was saved. Kempston enjoyed a good spell of pressure with Joe, Matt and Matthew taking consecutive corners, with one leading to a nice header, but unfortunately was saved.

Then Crawley made a break with the ball, and scored. (Kempston Colts 0 - Crawley 2)

A Crawley clearance came out towards Jake, who hit a stunning volley which crashed against the bar.

Crawley responded with another goal of their own soon after.  (Kempston Colts 0 - Crawley 3)

Matthew was making some good attempts at retrieving the ball and running down the pitch.  

Marco was running the pitch well, also with Dario supporting him, and again Ethan demonstrating some strong tackles. George made some excellent goal kicks getting the ball well out on the pitch.

Half Time.

At the beginning of the second half, Crawley won a free kick. The shot was taken well and resulted in a 4th goal for the Crawley team. (Kempston Colts 0 - Crawley 4)

Jake made another good run and took a shot which went wide. Matt also took a good shot, which also went wide. Kempston continued to try hard, passing the ball well between them. Marco made an attempt on goal which was unfortunately blocked by Crawley defenders, followed by another shot by Matt.

Kempston created some confusion at the back which led to a corner for Crawley. Ethan blocked well but Crawley soon gained their 5th goal. (Kempston Colts 0 - Crawley 5)

Both Bens worked hard today, Ben V made some excellent passes and Ben T made some good runs. George H played well up front, with a few great tackles slowing the Crawley team down.

During the final minutes of the match, Ethan continued to block Crawley players well, and Matthew saved us from another quick goal, but Crawley persevered until they got their final goal of the match, with the final score 6-0 to them.  (Kempston Colts 0 - Crawley 6)

Matthew was today's man of the match. Well Done Matthew.
