AFC OLDHAM Vixens |
AFC OLDHAM VIXENS was originally called Manchester Vixens Ladies Football Club which started in 2005, although most of us had never kicked a ball before we all thought it would be a great way to get fit (not sure what happened there) and a year later we find ourselves in the league!
As a team we are constantly praised on our fair play, sense of humour and team spirit, although our results tell one story we are always the team leaving the pitch with the bigest smiles and we always enjoy what we do best, having a laugh!!
Because of our reputation as being a fun club we have now started to get some interest in Ladies wanting to join us and with this added support and fresh legs you never know we may finish top one day!!

AFC OLDHAM Open Age Sides |
When a group of friends left the Boys Brigade in 1964 they started a football team and entered the Oldham Sunday Schools League as Queen Street Congregational.
All being the same age the shared duties as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
The Club had many changes over the next 7 years, until it was decided to incorporate with Bluecoat School Old Boys. Queen Street Congregational 2nd XI carried on for a further two years, but with declining numbers decided to fold.
So in 1974 it was decided, with other people, to join Clarksfield, run then by Peter Bird a well respected name in local football circles.
We ran two teams with a certain amount of success, indeed our Chairman, Dave Giblin, played for the club during the mid-eighties.
Clarksfield eventually gained entry into the Manchester League during this period, only to fold completely half way through the season, due to loss of players after arguments between the 1st team manager and his squad.
No club existed for 12 months until a meeting called by older more reliable club members resulted in the club reforming and entering a team into the South East Lancashire. League.
For the next 4 years we played in the South East Lancashire League eventually running three teams with hardly any success, but always believing we were providing sport to the community.
The late eighties brought about a merger with a club already in the Lancashire & Cheshire League. St. Edwards, who at that time had a very good squad of 1st team players only, so it made sense to merge the two clubs if only for numbers.
The only successes was the 1st team winning the Division 3 title in 1996/97 and the 2nd team finishing Runners Up in the 1998/99 season.
So it was until the present day when an amalgamation of Clarksfield St Edwards and Littlemoor Juniors (some age groups) was made to commence season 2005/2006.
