PROMOTION ! DIVISION 2 RUNNERS-UP.
On a Thursday evening in early May, West Mids knew just a point would secure automatic promotion. VFC Keyz were thrashed 12-1 at Brickfields, and the team went up in style, also setting a club record victory.
Promotion seemed a very long way off after just three games, West Mids had lost 2 of these opening three games. The team settled and went on a fantastic run of league form to take them up. In March & April the team won 9 straight games, conceding very few goals.
In the cup competitions, West Mids travelled over to Kidderminster again in the County Cup and easily beat Tribe Sports, however a very disappointing display at home to Lenches Lions saw them exit at the 3rd round. This game was called off twice, before being the only game played for West Mids in the whole of December !
Having been Finalists the season before, it was a blow to go out of the Finnegan Cup to Inter Express, and a tough away draw at the higher graded Blackpole Sports saw an end to the Nursing Cup.
The season will always be remembered for some fantastic league matches and ultimately promotion to Division 2.
