Today’s opponents Syngenta in the semi final of the Peter Anderson Trophy.

Both previous league games have been very close and all in Armadale expected today’s game to be no different. The Dale started the game well and created a couple of early chances. Syngenta also battled hard in the early exchanges. Armadale did take the lead when a nice ball was met by Craig who headed the ball into Cammy’s path and he beat the keeper to the ball to score. Armadale though, still had to be on their guard as Syngenta break very quickly when they have the ball. The defence of Connor, Darren, Stuart and Chris working well to limit their chances. The Dale lads stuck to the task and added a 2^nd when some nice football saw Craig given the chance, his shot was well saved, Craig collected the rebound and knocked the ball across the box for Stevie to score. The kick outs from the Syngenta keeper were causing problems as they dropped just outside the Dale box. It was after one of these that saw Syngenta get back into the game, Stuart caught wrong side as the number 16 raced into the box to fire the ball across for his striking partner to score. Armadale took centre and went straight down the field to make it 3, a long ball played into the right side was controlled by Cammy and he smashed it low past the keeper to restore our 2 goal advantage. Syngenta then hit the cross bar with a great shot from the edge of the box, Scott doing well getting his finger tips to divert the ball. 2^nd half and Syngenta pushed hard to get back into the match, making Scott work with a couple of good stops. Syngenta again hit the bar with another great shot from distance, The Dale defence pleased to push it away for a corner. Armadale then made the game safe with a 4^th after some good football by Liam, Callum ghosting in at the back post to score. A great match against a very good team. Excellent performances from all, especially Darren, Liam and Stevie. A deserved Cup Final to look forward to.
