Youth Team History

Our current Youth Team was originally founded as an independent side, Shopwhyke Rovers  in 2005, winning the Arun & Chichester Youth League, Invitation Cup in 2005/6 as an U11 team, B Division and Sportsmanship Cup in 2006/7 at U12s and then the main A Division in 2007/8.
In 2008 they approached and joined Arundel Football Club, restarting the club's Colts section, with an eye on future County League opportunities. Further success followed with the team securing the U15 A Division title by 8 points in 2008/9 and the Challenge Cup in 2010/11, narrowly missing out on a third successive A League title due to key injuries at the crucial time.

Throughout its' 6 year history, many talented young players have been involved, several of whom are now playing at Ryman Youth and in one case full first team level. It is hoped that some will progress to first team level over the next few years and provide home grown talent for the club.
