Boro were very depleted for this game, Stephen Oldham suspended and Spencer, Slater, Biggins,  Murdock, Prance and Oldham J. all unavailable, nevertheless Will Thompson stepped in to make the team up. Boro started the better team and took the game to Magdala, Groves had a good long range effort and Boro forced several corners which were wasted. On 13 minutes Ireson had a good effort and Cross had a half chance. Will Thompson lobbed the ball over the bar and the keeper made another good save from Groves. Magdala pressed but to be honest never looked like scoring. Popple put a good cross in and Prewitt rose well but headed just wide. Towards the end of the first half Richards was booked for persistent fouling. Magdala had 2 corners which Soal dealt with easily. Half time 0-0.
The second half was a really drab affair with neither team looking particularly as if they wanted to win the game. Magdala took the lead mid-way through the second half when a low corner was swung in and Beldham tried to clear the ball but unfortunately it skidded off the outside of his boot and past Soal. Boro were now under pressure and only two good saves from Soal kept Boro in the game. It looked like the game would end 1-0 but in a mad last ten minutes Boro conceded three goals, two of which could have been avoided. Final score Magdala 4 Boro 0.
To sum up, a disapponting result, I can only sympathise with Andy, it is a hard enough job running a team but with so many players missing very disheartening as well. Just one other thing I have noticed that we now have a Facebook site, not a good idea particularly when non-Attenborough players are inivited on there and can get involved in inter-club problems and chit chat. Problems shoud be sorted out face-to-face or by telephone, please don't aire your grievances on facebook for all to see!!
