Notes from League meeting Aug 08 (13/08/2008) |
This Sundays much talked about derby game against arch rivals Wrea Green will not be played on the village green, as the cricketers are using it. So wait out for a new venue.
New FA League rule:
As you all know, no girly jewellery is allowed on the pitch, this has now been extended to wedding rings regardless if they have been taped up. Apparently someone was decapitated by a wedding ring last season.
Also Linesmen will have to wear glow in the dark vests this coming season.

Club AGM @ Tinos Friday 1st August (31/07/2008) |

Dont end up on the wrong side of a slapping (14/08/2007) |
Getting BAE Warton FC ready for the start of the season costs around £400, this is made up of various league and insurance fees. There are further costs throughout the season for Pitch hire, sports equipment, first aid, referees fees and player/club fines, and stationary to pay for.
So what usually happens is Nick and I pay all this, though Nick pays the majority then we have to claw the money back throughout the rest of the season. In the past we have still ended up out of pocket at the end of the season, and Nick’s children have to go without shoes.
So to cut this sad story short; pay up anything you owe tonight or we will be making some phone calls and you will all end up 50/50 for the rest of the season if your lucky.
Your caring Club Secretary
Mike

Extraordinary AGM (03/07/2007) |
Notes from last nights BAE Warton FC extraordinary AGM:
Club Manager:
John Birch was brave enough to eventually volunteer for this vacant position. I think the £1000 bonus for doing the double was too much of a temptation for him.
John will be issued with knife proof body armour prior to his first team selection.
John hasn’t managed a team before so he is on trail until Christmas.
Committee:
Club Secretary is Me
Club Treasurer is Nick Taylor
Appointed positions:
Club Manager: John Birch
Team Captain: Macca
All of the above was voted unanimously apart from Macca who just scraped a majority.
Club Finances:
What little we have is kept in a bucket underneath Nick’s bed. And the sooner everyone pays their outstanding subs and their £10 registration fee, then the sooner Nick can stop hiding behind the couch every time the doorbell rings.
Preseason training:
It was agreed that training will commence on Wednesday 18th July.
Squad size:
We will be running another advertising campaign to hopefully get you all replaced (only joking)… No I mean to increase our squad size for the coming relegation battle.
Ian Pilkington has taken the role of marketing manager for this. And you should soon see his art work around camp.

Extraordinary AGM @ Lightning Club 6pm 2nd July 07 (26/06/2007) |
Topics for the meeting will include (but are not limited to).
1. Management
- Who is going to take over from Mike as manager.
2. Committee.
- Who is going to do the rest of the jobs that need doing to keep the club running healthily.
- off the top of my head, these include
Manager
Assistant Manager/Assistant
Coach
First Aider
3. Finances.
- how much have we got and how much do we need for next year?
4. Pre-season
- When and where to start training for the coming season? Who is going to take training?
- Friendlies.
5. The season proper
- Squad size
- Facilities - Have we got everythign we need?
Unless there are any serious arguments, we should try and keep this down to an hour. If you can't make it but you have strong opinions on anything or would like to be considered for one of the responsible roles, please let me know and I'll try to make sure that your views are heard.
I would ask you to bear in mind that, in my opinion, it's much more difficult to drop someone who does a lot of extra work for the club outside of turning up on Sunday mornings if that encourages people to volunteer.
Nick.
Acting Manager. BAE Warton FC.
P.S. If I've missed anyone off the distribution for this, please pass it on to them (is Olly back?).

Notes from the AGM June 07 (13/06/2007) |
League Secretary’s report:
League Treasurers report:
A good year they now have more money then sense.
Election of Officers:
Ben Astley has resigned and a bloke called Graham Gore has taken over.
Entrance Fees:
Entrance fee to the league stays at £125
Alteration to League and Cup rules:
Head to head contact is now classed the same as an actual head butt. So try not to do it or you will be banned for a long time.
Loads of new clubs have been elected.
Presentation of awards:
None for us this year, and I didn’t get the Secretary of the year award, it went to Lea Rangers. We didn’t get the Div 3 Sportsmanship trophy either it went to Kenlis with an average score of 3.8 out of 5 per game. So they get to save a couple of hundred quid by getting their Insurance paid for them this coming season. What do we do wrong; I can’t believe we didn’t get this.
Teams promoted to div 2 from our League:
Gregson Lane – We beat them
Lonsdale – we drew against them
Charnock Richard – we beat them
Fishwick Rangers (stab the infidels).. We drew against them
AFC Muldoons – Our bogey team.
Teams Promoted into our league from Div 4:
Preston Guild
Trades Hall
Fulwood Garrison
Walton Athletic
Brookfield
Ribbleton Wanderers
Teams relegated into our league from Div 2:
Phoenix Celtic formerly known as AFC Manor. They changed their club name, how cheesey is that?
Not that we will have to change our name to anything with the word Phoenix in it as we haven’t been relegated and I have never said we would be.
Cup Draw:
Were away in the first round against Phoenix Celtic.
Player Registrations:
At least 80% of our squad must be registered with the FA by the 21st July. I have the forms and we be passing them out at training sometime in July.
See you all at training in July

Dacres notes from Aprils League meeting (17/04/2007) |
Boring!
Anyway I have passed the cheque to them and got the receipt (also a new kit catalogue).
Contents of the meeting were as follows:
7 new adult teams are going to join with a possible 3 others on the way. A vote to remove reserve teams from the leagues (not passed) Victoria gave some big sob story about how they were local and that it would ruin tradition
Some other bloke stuck up for them.
Next year registration will be earlier. Performance of the month went to Cadley. A big moan about locations of clubs as some new clubs are playing at the reebok, and others were from southport.
All the locals claimed that it was a local league for local people.
League bloke pointed out that Wrea Green wasn’t Preston and they happily existed in the league
Locals still moaned that they would have to travel to somewhere with decent facilities and a decent pitch.
League pointed out that the clubs joining would have to travel every match and they had the bigger travel problem.
I didn’t take part in the raffle so I didn’t win it.
