The final game of the season revealed Mowbray Rangers as the opposition. Both the team and supporters were in top form and the rain stopped just in time for the kick off.
Immediately Barrow Hawks were on the front foot and attacked with regularity. The new starting forwards of Alex Marshall and Kevin Hoxha caused problems. Midfield dynamos Will Gorman and Blair McCue supporting the front men with relish. The resultant pressure produced a stunning right foot power shot from Will Gorman. 1-0 to Barrow at half time.
The second half ebbed and flowed but the Barrow defence of Ben Thorpe and Callum Heagney held firm. Second half sub Max Haywood made an immediate impact causing all sorts of problems for Mowbray and second substitute Edgar Brown was strong in both Defence and Midfield. The win was sealed when Max Haywood leashed a thunderbolt at the Mowbray goal that the home keeper could only attempt to save, 2-0 to the Hawks.
A final shot at goal from Captain Alex Marshall from distance fizzed just over the bar. Harrison Lightowler was rock solid in goal catching and holding on to everything, the only thing dropped was his Easter Egg which the team received after the game.
A most excellent end to the season for the Barrow Hawks winning two of the last three games. Congratulations to coaching team Shael and Paul and roll on September and a new season. COME ON THE HAWKS
