Beacons Vets history

Beacons Vets was formed in January 2010 after the club was challenged to put a team of dads and coaches together to play our neighbours and good friends Eltham Lions.

On a cold and frozen January afternoon the Beacons - playing in a borrowed kit - took on the Lions and lost 4-2 in a tough game.

As the players trudged and limped back to the dressing room the words on everyone's lips were: "We've got to do this again."

The Beacons kit was ordered the same week so there was no turning back and since then the team has gone from strength to strength and played every few weeks or so in friendly matches.

The great thing is it has brought coaches, who would normally just nod to each other at training on a Saturday morning, closer together and made them into life long friends. Beacons Vets are here to stay
