Last game of the season, and we entertained a Queens Park side currently bottom but enjoying a recent run of good form. We welcomed back Samantha and for the first time in several weeks even had enough for a sub !!
It was Queens Park who started the brighter of the 2 sides, playing much better than their league position indicates, attacking with 3 players, and went ahead when a through ball tempted Victoria off her line leaving her stranded and a tap in at the far post for the Queens Park forward. The visitors advantage was doubled when a mix up in the defence left a tap in for number 2, and another attack resulted in a 3rd goal before half time. For our part efforts from Amy, Em, Sam and Emma C were all well dealt with by the Queens Park keeper. 0-3 at half time, and a lot of work to do.
However, the real Bedfont came out for the second half and showed what fantastic spirirt the girls have. Constant pressure from Emma C-s long throws caused no end of problems for the Queens Park defence and Em was on hand to tap in from 2 yards to pull a goal back.
The defence still had to be on their toes though and a couple of fantasic last ditch tackles from Rachel and Amy kept us in it. Jess then made way for a reshuffle and we went with 2 upfront in a bid to salvage something from the game. A carbon copy of the first goal followed for 2-3 and another huge throw from Emma C resulted in a penalty being awarded for handball. A bit harsh maybe, but a penalty. Em cooly slotted the equaliser for her hatrick. There was still time for Amy to shoot just over the bar with a well struck volley. The 3-3 final score was probably a fair result, Queens Park deserved credit for their first half performance, as we can for our second half performance,
Great spirit again by the girls, never knowing when they are beaten. If only we didnt have the habit of starting slowly in many games this season, we could have earned a lot more points and finished higher, however for a first season in the Premier league i am very proud of the girls efforts. Everytime i-ve asked for a little bit more they-ve given it. Everytime i-ve asked for one last effort they-ve come up with it.

Well done girls, on behalf of me and all the parents thank you for the entertainment this year. Hope you enjoyed it, we have. We-re all very proud of you !
