It was clear from the off that Simmo’s desire to beat another Colebrook side was as strong as ever and it was down to KD to persuade him to come off the pitch, take off the kit and let Will wear it instead. Simmo adopted his more usual sideline role and, as ever, gave encouragement to the team, whilst giving generous amounts of advice to the referee...but what a game, played at a fast and furious pace, Belmont showed real character with every member of the team playing their part in a hard fought match. It’s difficult to single out any player, such was the team effort. With a Colebrook goalmouth which seemed to shrink every time Belmont shot, their goalkeeper must be congratulated. Equally, Dominic should be congratulated for finally resolving the question of goal line technology. Apparently FiFa have now agreed there is no need for cameras, or replays, just an honest word from the goalkeeper to the referee that the ball did not cross the line will suffice. Although it ended 1-1, morally all the Belmont faithful knew the true score was at least 3 -1.
