Bickleigh Football Club was formed in 1969, initially called Cruwys Morchard, first playing Sunday League football. Tony Dascombe (still with the club now as Vice Chairman) joined the club that Christmas as a player, he was to become the backbone of the club and has been Chairman or Secretary ever since. The Saturday team was formed in 1972.
After playing on three different pitches the club arrived at Bickleigh in 1978, firstly named The Bickleigh Casuals but eventually changing to Bickleigh A.F.C. in 1982.
Eventually the Sunday side diminished, but a reserve team was added in 1989 under the stewardship of John Parkman. Four years later Bickleigh had a third team which ran for a few years before being folded.
The last few years has seen the club develop impressively under the huge influence of Craig Mogford. The clubs changing facilities have been improved massively, the non-playing personnel needed to run the club have developed. Generally the club is a much more professionally run organisation as a result.
Bickleigh now runs two sides; the first team have progressed to the dizzy heights of the Peninsular League now under the management of Hedley Steele. The reserve side a very strong unit sat in Division Four of the Exeter and District League under the stewardship of Chris White & Chris Pancherz.
