Bilbrook Football Club was originally formed in 1978, with the initial objective of providing an opportunity for local children to train and play competitive football whilst expanding and utilizing their talents, the club has flourished and progressed with the huge demand.
Now in its 30th year, it has 30 teams at present competing at differing levels. From an Under 6 squad straight through to a senior team not forgetting a young but encouraging girl’s side, the club has gone from strength to strength. Bilbrook as a whole was recently awarded the FA CHARTER CLUBS COMMUNITY AWARD back in Dec 2005, which proves its dedication to providing grassroots football to 400+ children in the community, and has only come about from all the hard work and determination from all involved in the running of Bilbrook FC. It is now proud to be one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the West Midlands of its type and has given birth to many a footballing star. This year has already seen an ex player go on to play Manchester United in a recent FA Cup draw, and also another young player turn out for England U20’s against Russia. It has also seen 7 teams winning trophies and 8 others as runners up in other various competitions in the last 12months.
The Senior squad -
The senior squad was formed 4 years ago by entering the FA West Midlands Regional League Div 2. It has seen dramatic improvements year on year with the ability to provide younger Bilbrook players the chance to continue playing for the club after graduating from the eldest age group. The first year provided both a new experience and learning curve to a new standard of football, and saw the team finish in the bottom section of the league. In the following year the team grasped the standards required and finished in the top half of the league and as losing finalists of the league cup. This impressive progression was continued in the 3rd season by winning promotion to Division 1 with an established and talented team finishing as runners up in a difficult league. Last season saw the team continue to evolve with a mid table finish in their first season in Div1. With much battling and determination, and an attacking style of play, the lads have continued to attract many non-league football enthusiasts to travel miles just to watch this exciting and enthralling team play. Due to the continued support from the management team the squad aims to grow and improve for more taxing matches ahead, and the goal of going as far as they can in the FA league system.
