Sadly Jack's injury sustained against the GFA County squad has proved to be more serious than suspected and it seems he will not be playing for at least a year. All of us at Bitton hopes that this is not the case and Jack will return a little earlier, however for now we all wish him well on the road to recovery.

The first pre-season friendly for our ever hopeful under 18s saw them convincingly beat WSM 3 - 2 with goals coming from Paris Tilling, Billy Hodge and Kevin Roper. Whilst the score does not fairly reflect the game Bitton started the better with good passing football and a move that was rewarded with a goal from Paris Tilling. Mark Knapman gave away a penalty with 5 minutes to go in the first half which allowed WSM to level the score. The second half started with 6 changes to the first half squad and Billy Hodge marked his debut with a solo goal just outside the box that was a real gem. WSM then leveled the score again and also had an offside attempt disallowed before Kevin Roper sealed the victory 5 minutes from the end. The following new players made a good impression on their debuts, Matt Shephard, Billy Hodge, Dan Dorrington and Russell Woodford. Others who played particulary well were Spencer Collingwood and Dan Webb.
