Blackpool U13s were playing Burnley U13s who a week earlier had been beaten 6-1 in the Challenge Cup so the Blackpool players knew it wasn’t going to be the easiest of games.
Blackpool started the brighter of the two teams and continued to push the Burnley defence where chances were just wide from Natasha Fenton and Emma Hickson, Burnley continued to pile on the pressure but Blackpool's strong solid defence of Jazz Singleton, Amy Bennett and Charley Henderson kept them at bay.
A free kick was won by Tash Fenton on the edge of the Burnley area and Jazz Singleton struck a strong effort which hit the cross bar and fell at the feet of several players but it was Rebecca Shaw who reacted the quickest to give Blackpool a well-deserved lead at half time.
The second half was again very evenly matched with chances by both teams but Blackpool continued to deny Burnley an equaliser as did they keep denying the seasiders the chance to extend their lead Georgia Lambe continued to work hard and tireless in midfield as did Emma Hickson and there were strong solid performances from all the Blackpool players and they were rewarded with a 1-0 win and retaining their league trophy they won last season.
