PRE SEASON CONTINUES

Blackpool travelled to the Armitage Centre, Manchester to continue their pre-season, opposition being from the USA–Dickinson College, Pennsylvania.

Dickinson College perhaps settled first but subsequent corners in their favour were dealt with successfully by the Pool backline and keeper Steph Findlay. In the 15^th minute however they were to take the lead with Blackpool replying some 10 minutes later courtesy of an own goal, the industrious Charlotte Gill pressuring the college backline with their centre half heading into the back of her own net. The goal gave the Seasiders confidence with Jennie McGill’s first time effort going over and Sian Dillon heading wide but the scores remained level at the interval.

Into the second half goals from Charlotte Gill and Charlotte Banner from the penalty spot sealed the tie in Blackpool’s favour.

The ladies continue their pre-season on Sunday 12^th August with a fixture against Northern Premier League opposition – PNEWFC. The tie will be played at the Penwortham Priory with a 2pm kick off.
