Last game of the season, against the U16 in the County Cup Final. The heat would certainly tell in this one for both teams. The Lions started slowly allowing the U16 to control the game and for the first 20 minutes the Lions had to defend well, however the U16 broke the deadlock. Half time gave us a chance to regroup, the girls came out with a different attitude and began to play good football, creating chances, we eventually equalised and pushed on throughout the half for the winner. The girls had to be aware as the U16 played direct football.
No where near the best game the Lions have played this season, however a good game from a club point of view.
Special well done to Leigh, who was fantastic - As we have said time and time again - The Best Goalkeeper at her age - ANYWHERE!
