Was a bit of a finger in the air job today with playing new & unknown opposition that have had some decent results this season. Its always good to meet & play new teams & Redditch proved just that today!
We took control of a tough game against good opposition and Zuki's movement, breaking through their back four and really showing with some quality play his potential. All in all - We could have been Red Rum at half time - Home and hosed three times national winner!!!! 4, 5, 6 really good chances went begging...but that’s football...
Hunter superb again with his shinny new boots working his socks off, Ritch Massey and Wallace were not at the races today but good genuine hard working lads, that just love playing the game sometimes get that frustrated in a game and showed us what they have in patches. We scored after Bobby Moore AKA Nathan Kirby produced a class pass and Hunter finished with ease 1-0 with a nice lob over the keeper.
Tyler was causing havoc when we got him involved, so did Azza second half but far too sparsely...
The lead was stretched as Wallace was coming in to himself and broke through with a shot deflecting into the net 2-0.
We shot ourselves in the foot for their goal but we were so in control as Redditch grabbed one back 2-1
2nd half - I changed a number of lads so hopefully everyone got some game time. Disruptive and don’t help the pattern of a game - I know but Boing FC & The IFA is all about giving players a fair run out & the opportunity to wear that Baggies shirt with pride
We lost or shape a little second half but still pushed on in their half for the first 20mins - We nearly got caught a few times but some spectacular brave keeping and some great defending kept us 2-1 up, just purely by getting caught by their punt once or twice as the ball was now not sticking up tops.
Hunter put some great balls across and Ad Hurran should have notched with a “How do you like ume?” ball…
Owen showed some real maturity at centre half and Zuki with his movement, some great positives...
Wallace made it game over with his 2nd & Boing’s 3rd to make the final score Redditch Utd SFC 1-3 Boing FC
Well played Redditch who will make a great addition to The IFA & hopefully many games to come in the future.
Man of the Match: Kirby was superb and level pegging but alongside the performance Rich Wapplingtons attitude was for me today. Wappa was just superb - this is a guy who has been one of our best players this season - Stands at the side with me and says 'Stu you know if you want to give other people the chance I don’t mind sitting out' WOW! Thank you mate….That kept me going today....
