Borrowash Victoria was formed in 1911, playing in the Long Eaton & District Church League. In the 1930's the club moved for a short time to the Derby Amateur League before returning in 1937. After the second World War the club was reformed as the Wesleyan Youth Club and was successful in the Derby & District Welfare League, winning the title in 1953 but later falling away to disband in 1957.
Six years later they took the place of Borrowash Youth Club in the lower division of the welfare league and began to rise in status with outstanding consistency over the next twenty years. They gained promotion year after year progressing through the Central Alliance and East Midlands Regional Leagues into the Midlands Counties League, by which time the Vic's had become one of the leading amateur clubs in Derbyshire.
Champions and Cup Winners of Division 1 1980/1981 they were denied promotion due to inadequate ground facilities at their Deans Drive home. In 1982 when the Midlands League and Yorkshire League merged to form the Northern Counties East League, the Vic's, managed by Neil Kellogg and Tom Keogh, won the Division 1 title at the first attempt by a clear margin but once again they were denied promotion to the Premier Division because of the facilities. It was decided that the Vic's would move to the Asterdale Club in the neighbouring village of Spondon. The Asterdal Bowl was developed with floodlights, perimeter fencing, changing rooms and a covered spectator area. This enabled the club to enter the FA Cup and FA Vase.
In 1986 a number of leading Midlands clubs formed the Supreme Division of the Central Midlands League of which the Vlc's became a founder member. In 1993 the owners of the Asterdale Club offered to sell the Asterdale Bowl complex to the Vlc's. After long and hard negotiations and with the help of the Derby City Council, the site was purchased. With considerable assistance from Robinson Construction the club built a 250 seated Stand which gave the club the springboard to move upward in the pyramid system.
The club has won 4 championships, 4 League Cups' the Derbyshire Divisional Cup was won in 1973/74 and since 1975 the Vic's have been a selected entrant in the Derbyshire Senior Cup, reaching the final in1990/91 losing to Gresley Rovers in a two legged final. Also in that season the Vic's reached the last 32 of the FA Vase losing to Bridlington Town 3-1. Under the management of Martin Rowe, in 1992/93 the Vic's were one round away from the 1st round proper of the FA Cup beating St Helens Town 3-1, Belper Town 2-0, Macclesfield Town of the Conference 2-1 before losing 0-3 to Emley.
The club returned to the Northern Counties East League 1995 where they held their own in Division 1. Under the guidance of Mick Rodgers and Gary Adul the Vic's won the Division 1 title in 2000/01and again reached reached the last 32 of the FA Vase losing to Hallen 2-1. This time the facilities allowed promotion to the Premier Division. This is the highest level in football the Vic's have achieved during their long history, however the club was relegated to Division 1 at the end of the 2004/05 season.
The club moved again for the 2008/09 season to the newly formed East Midlands Counties Football League, which was formed with teams from the Leicestershire Senior League and the Central Midlands League plus Gedling Town and the Vic's from the Northern Counties East Football League.
On Saturday 2nd May 2009 the Vic's completed their league fixtures in this the first season of the newly formed league with a 2-1 win away to Dunkirk F.C. and secured the runners-up spot, narrowly missing out on winning the league by three points.
On Wednesday 6th May the Vlc's rounded off their season with an excellant 1-0 win against Holbrook Miners Welfare to lift the League Cup. Mark Wilson, having completed his second full season as manager, can justifiably feel very proud of his performance and that of the playing squad this season and has already confirmed his commitment to continue next season.
