Report

Bradley Stoke Youth 1 -2 Yate.

This was a game we could have and should have won, the boys clicked well as a team and were a constant threat to the opposition.

Early on Ben Platt, Sam Fryer and Carlos Tippett all sent shots towards goal, George Hucker was winning the ball well and getting us going forward well. It was only a matter of time till the first goal came, and it came courtesy of the left foot of George Hucker. George finished well from just inside the box and the boys were 1-0 up.

Yate then did start to come forward, Luke Wheaton was keeping them at bay with some strong tackling and good clearances. Luke also impressed when he played further up the pitch in the second half.

Henry Prior was also on hand at the back and put in countless tackles. Henry is always solid when he is in defence but today it was coming forward later in the game where Henry really shone. His pace and his dribbling was exemplary today, he took the game to the opposition at every opportunity.

Sam Fryer battled hard in the midfield and was breaking up the play well, he also did a good job at the back in the second half.

Joe Bees again impressed between the sticks, he made a number of good saves, commanded his penalty area well and got the boys going forward well with his clearances.

Going in at half time 1-0 was about a fair result.

The boys did then lose a goal quite soon after half time, which was a shame, but lots of credit must go to the boys as they got right back at Yate.

Rhys Bridges played well throughout in midfield, he passed well and on a number of occasions looked like he was going to get on the score sheet.

Ben Platt impressed equally in midfield and at the back, he was a great ball winner today for us and was unlucky not to find his name on the score sheet.

Josh Tanner was again solid at the back, his positional sense was excellent and his tackling was hard. Josh broke up a number of attacks before Yate could get a shot in on goal.

Jayden Bloodworth was excellent up front today, he had several shots on goal in both the first and the second half. He chased everything, linked up well and looked like he was going to prove to be the match winner. He really did deserve a goal.

The same can be said of Carlos Tippett, when up front he was a major handful and when he was moved back into midfield the boys started to win more possession and his dribbling and all round play was superb.

The boys really did push on for the winner, Luke Wheaton was closing down and winning the ball well and right near the end Sam Fryer sent in a cross, we had a goal mouth scramble, the ball fell to Henry Prior who did well to steer his shot passed the goalie, only to see it cleared off the line.

Yate did then break up the other end, we seemed to deal with the problem well as the ball went out for a goal kick. Our midfield when pushed a bit too far up, Yate won the ball, the defence was over ran and they scored.

Full time 1-2

A defeat for the boys in this game, but I feel we had the better of this game. Man of the match went to Carlos Tippett, Carlos worked so hard for the team today and really deserved to win the award. He was pushed close by Jayden Bloodworth and Henry Prior.
