ABOUT THE CLUB

BTYFC - A Charter Standard Club - Affiliated to the Essex FA, Blackwater & Dengie League and the Essex Girls League

Welcome to the website of Braintree Town Youth Football Club. We hope you find the site both useful and informative.

The Club runs a mini soccer school, 7 a side and 11 a side teams for both boys and girls.

Mini soccer is a Saturday morning club. The aim of this club is to introduce boys and girls under 6 to sport. The children will be encouraged to enjoy playing the game and also develop skills and agility whilst learning to control a football.

This club has had great success and since 2003 it has had over 120 children graduate into competitive football.

Mini Soccer 7 a side is a non-competitive and competitive progression from the BTYFC Mini Soccer Club. The Under 7's and U8's will take part in the Blackwater and Dengie friendly league and the Under 9's and Under 10's will take part in full league fixtures and cup matches also in the Blackwater and Dengie Youth League.

11 a side is when the real game of football is played and at BTYFC we aim to take the players to their highest possible level. This means that the team achieves its best potential. Our teams play in both the Blackwater and Dengie Youth League and the Essex Girls League. Our aim is to have teams at all age groups in the future.

All of the 7 and 11 a side teams are run and coached by parents that volunteer their time to run a team. All managers/coaches are put through their level 1 FA coaching badge and have undertaken Emergency Aid and Child Protection workshops along with having a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check. Some have obtained further FA qualifications.

All managers attend a monthly meeting to discuss the ups and downs of running their team. The meetings are held so that all managers can pass on their experiences. This way we hope that the club grows together and remains united.

What do you think of coloured football boots?
Not for me thanks. Football boots should be black - end of story.
