Welcome to the website of Braintree Town Youth Football Club. We hope you find the site both useful and informative.
The Club runs a mini soccer school, 5 a side, 7 a side, 9 a side and 11 a side teams for both boys and girls.
Mini soccer is a Saturday morning club. The aim of this club is to introduce boys and girls under 6 to sport. The children will be encouraged to enjoy playing the game and also develop skills and agility whilst learning to control a football.
This club has had great success and since 2003 it has had over 200 children graduate into competitive football.
Mini Soccer 5 aside is a non-competitive progression from the BTYFC Mini Soccer Club and for the 2013/14 season will only be played by the Under 7 age group. Mini Soccer 7 a side is played buy the U8's who will take part in the Blackwater and Dengie friendly league and the Under 9's and Under 10's will take part in full league fixtures and cup matches also in the Blackwater and Dengie Youth League.
9 a side is now well and truly inplace and applies to the U11 and U12 for this season. The FA have introduced this competiton to enable teams to build a team from 7 a side to 11 a side. Normal rules apply and junior goals are used.
11 a side is when the real game of football is played and at BTYFC we aim to take the players to their highest possible level. This means that the team achieves its best potential. Our teams play in both the Blackwater and Dengie Youth League, Colchester and District Youth League, Easter Junior Alliance League and the Essex Girls League. Our aim of having teams at all age groups has been achieved for the year 2013/14
All of the 5,7,9 and 11 a side teams are run and coached by parents that volunteer their time to run a team. All managers/coaches are put through their level 1 FA coaching badge and have undertaken Emergency Aid and Child Protection workshops along with having a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check. Some have obtained further FA qualifications.
We are proud to have 4 girls teams enrolled for 2013/14 playing both 9 aside and 11 aside football.
All managers attend a monthly meeting to discuss the ups and downs of running their team. The meetings are held so that all managers can pass on their experiences. This way we hope that the club grows together and remains united.
Braintree Town Youth FC and Braintree Town Girls FC are both proudly FA Charter Standard Clubs and working towrads Community Standard in conjunction with the Essex FA.
