History

Braintree Town Youth & Girls FC
14 Jul 2008

Braintree Town Youth FC was formed as part of Braintree Town FC in the 1980’s and up until 2003 the Youth section used the facilities at Braintree Town. In 2003 a new Chairman took over at Braintree Town and asked the Youth to find facilities of their own.

BTYFC Mini Soccer was formed in 2003 and started with 10 players and now has over 150 children from Under 5s up to Under 10s. Along with this we also have 4 11 aside teams in the Blackwater and Dengie Youth League. After the success of our first girls team in 2005 we added another in 2006 and hope to add more.

Both The Youth and The Girls are affiliated to the Essex Football Association and we are currently working towards the club becoming FA Chartered Standard.

Volunteers and parents run the Club and a Voluntary Committee ensures that everything is kept in order. We have had success with our Pre Season Day, which attracts more interest each year, and also with new committee members, taking the club forward.

The growth and popularity of the club has grown so much in the last year that we now have some money in our account. This would not have been possible without the help from sponsorship for kit and equipment. With more sponsorship we hope to be able to take the next step and look to lease a piece of land or make a permanent commitment to a sports ground that will give the Club a home. More importantly a decent junior pitch is needed for the progression of players from mini soccer to 11 aside and also for our 2 girls teams. All this is needed to carry on achieving the standards and success that have been achieved so far.

Thanks for your interest in our Club.
