Congratulations to Reddish Vulcans on winning the championship, only dropping one point and only conceding 7 goals. Great Moor pushed them all the way but Vulcans were worthy winners.
Also well done to Poynton, conquerors of Vulcans in the semi-final, on winning the League Cup.
Bramhall completed their league programme with a 3-3 draw against old rivals Hillgate Boys. The draw may not be enough to keep them in the First Division but the spirit showed by the players augers well for next season.
Lack of goals has been the major problem with only one Bramhall player managing to reach double figures so far this season. More than enough chances have been created but the lack of ruthlessness and composure in front of goal has been the major factor in the struggle to avoid the drop.
Life in the First Division has not been easy with only three wins gained while their other five points have been courtesy of draws.
Whilst in certain matches the team have not had the rub of the green, the step up in the standard of opposition has been a bit of an eye opener. The majority of teams seem to be a bit bigger, stronger and there is a huge difference between the quality of teams in the top tier and the other divisions.
There have definitely been no easy matches for Bramhall this term.
The only other win came in the Knockout Cup where Cheadle Heath Nomads, currently leading the Third Division, were swept aside 6-2.
It must be said that most of the players have improved with more competetive matches which is encouraging however it would have been nice to get a few more points under our belt and secure another season with the elite.
Contrary to the sheet handed out by the League, we do NOT play our matches at Linney Road.
Directions to the new ground, Parklands, can be found on the "How to find us" page.
