Under 10's Sheffield 3
Eckington Boys 0

For the second time in 3 weeks Brampton were forced to play their home fixtutre away as the Newbold pitch fell foul of the weather. Fortunately Eckington was playable and many thanks to the Eckington management for agreeing to the switch of venue.

Prior to the match both teams linked arms for an impeccablyobserved minutes silence in rememberance of the fallen from the wars. Well done boys!

Match 1

The match opened with some great interchange play and an attacking outlook from Brampton. Shots peppered the Eckington goal from Dan S, Dan L and Colum while a Josh turn and loop came back off the crossbar. At the back James and Jake were dealing effectively with any Eckington attack and giving Tommy one of his quieter halfs. Just before the half another fierce drive from Colum was well held by the keeper. HT 0 - 0.
The second half started with Liam coming on and immediately causing some concern to the Eckington defence. A peach of a cross from Liam was met with a senasational little head flick from Dan S and the ball fell to Dan L who struck it well and forced a great save from the keeper. Fantastic move. The match continued in a quick tempo with Brampton pressing for the breakthrough and perhaps just a little too hurried as chances came and went. A great effort finished goalless and MOTM went to birthday boy Colum Noone. BRAFC 0 Eckington 0

Match 2

The pitch was cutting up a little by the start of the second game and the emphasis was on strong accurate passing to ensure the ball reached its target. Brampton started off on the ascendancy and never looked back playing some great passing football but Eckington looked strong in the middle and it was lovely football to watch. Midway through the half George broke up an Eckington attack, some great feet some him ghost past two eckington players before slipping the ball through to Jason who waited for the right moment before releasing Ethan with a perfect pass, Ethan took one touch then bang 1 - 0 Brampton. Dan E was getting stuck in on the left wing and Sam running the right. Calum then came on and made a fantastic last gasp tackle on an Eckington forward. HT 1 - 0 Brampton. The second half saw more Brampton pressure and a second goal and what a goal. Some great 1-2 play by Jason and Ethan led to a delightful cross over the goalkeeper and falling to Sam who rifled home. Brampton were now playing some super stuff Corburn having a good knock just over. Special word to Brad, our stand-in keeper who was a stand out, nothing was going past him today! A final flurry saw a great run and cross by EThan met by a sliding Calum who netted for number 3. Superb. FT BRAFC 3 Eckington 0. MOTM Calum Nicholls.

Final overall score BRAFC 3 Eckington 0
