After just avoiding relegation in our first season back in the top division, we knew how tough the new season would be, however we were excited to be able to improve and play against arguably some of the best teams in Bury and Bolton, if not the North West.

The season started well with wins against teams never beaten before during our short history and a draw against the eventual league runners up, who later in the season we went on to annihilate four goals to nil!

Despite having one of the smallest squads in the division, both in stature and numbers, the boys never gave up and at times played football which was a joy to watch and had spectators reminiscing of the great football sides such as Holland in the 80’s the modern day Arsenal and the great Man City!

Great goals, fantastic free flowing football and superb team spirit from all the lads epitomised how the game should be played, and every player should hold their heads up high for their performances’ this season.

The boys finally finished 3rd just missing out on a second place play off following a great end of season run in. Something to be proud of considering there are almost 70 teams in the age group.
