BRANDON TOWN FC
Brandon Town began their pre-season with a good draw at home to Ridgeons Premier side Haverhill Rovers.
Town should have led at half time as Danny Brown twice struck the woodwork and also headed over from close range.
The second half saw the visitors enjoy the lion's share of possession but lacked a finishing punch.
Town took the lead late on when Ian Bethell finished well after Town broke away. In the dying seconds a poor goal kick went straight to the opposition and the resulting attack was finished from a tight angle to leave honours even.
In the Reserves match following on, the gulf between the sides was very apparent and the visitors were comfortable 6-1 winners. Last season's County cup winners proved too strong and included several members of the Watford Academy in their ranks.
