These days only a handfull of players and commitee members actually live in the village.
Most come from the surrounding larger towns but choose to take advantage of the excellent pitch at Headlands.
The club was reformed in 1962 by local footballer Peter Mitchelmore, father of the now reserve team manager Ian.
Due to the large number of players at the club a reserve team was added in the 1999/2000 season.
Football was clearly taking place in the village in the early 1920s as there are in existance 2 Broadhempston FC football tournament prize tankards dated 1923, which can be seen in the Monks Retreat.
The original club was also a founder member of the South Devon Football League back in 1902.
