At the moment the girls are really struggling especially in front of goal were at the moment we cannot seem to buy a goal. So todays game was going to be really tough as our opponents were on a high after only being beat 3-2 by Crosspool in the cup last week. First half playing down the hill the Broddy girls kept the Killamarsh team under constant pressure but just couldnt get that final ball for a clear strike on goal. Rachel-s shots from distance had all the attributes to score but just wasnt on target. The girls worked really hard to limit the Killamarsh girls to only a couple of chances in the half. The half was getting more and more frustrating for all ( spectators especially ) as we went close on another 4 or 5 occasions through Kaydn,Caitlin and co. Second half was about the girls having the believe that they could get a result in this game and they set off really well again. But we still couldnt find that perfect pass to create a real chance. As time went on the game looked like it was going to be a clear draw until Rachel latched on to a loose ball and shot from 25 yards and lobbed the Killamarsh keeper. We-d struggled all this time for a goal but what a cracker it was ( well worth the wait ). The girls knew that they still had to work hard and was doing really well until a lack in concentration let the Killamarsh striker in,she found herself one on one with Sammy and Sammy saved brilliantly with the legs. The girls only had about seven minutes to hang on when disaster happened in the manner of the Killamarsh striker getting a run in on our goal when she was clearly 5 yards offside ( our linesman missed it ) and eventhough Sammy dived at the strikers feet,her momentum made her collide with Sam and the ball broke infront of an open net. What a cruel game it can be at times but the girls know this and will work even harder in next weeks game. WELL DONE GIRLS AND EVENTHOUGH WE HAVENT HAD MUCH LUCK THIS YEAR. OUR TIME WILL COME.
