Welsh League Division 1 Champions!!!!!!!

This turned out to be the greatest season in the history of Bryntirion Athletic FC after Franny Ford's squad won the Welsh Football League Division 1 title for the 1st time in our history.

With a delay to the start of the season due to internal politic's of the league's decision to relegate clubs to get each league to 16 teams in each of the 3 divisions, the pre season seemed to drag on and on but Francis Ford and Sec Clive Layne kept the team ticking over nicely for when the season actually started in September. Not only did the squad win the league title, but we also travelled to Farrar Road to visit the mighty Bangor City in the 3rd round of the FAW Welsh Cup. Bangor City at the time hadn't lost a game all season and were in a huge run of form but we gave them a huge fright and they scraped through by winning 1 - 2 and the Bangor City supporters said that at the time it was the hardest game of the season they had faced!!!

Our final league record was as follows:-

Final Placing - 1st (Champions)
Wins - 23
Draws - 1
Losses - 6
Goals For - 76
Goals Against - 27
Top Goal Scorer - Paul Evans
