Report

Great performance after a mid-week drubbing.

Played some great football at times, looked more comfortable on the ball and were winning tackles.

Could have been a few goals up at half time. Carl had a couple of good chances and some poor offside calls prevented us profiting more. However we did go in at half time with a 1-0 lead through a goal from yours truly "Wildo". Some indecision in Bridges back line led to the ball falling to the edge of the box which Wildo having got forward on a couple of occasions steered first time into the bottom left hand corner. A great strike and well desreved.

The second half came and it wasn-t long until Bridge got a leveller. Jamie letting in a howler direct from a free kick he thought was going wide. Burlington rallied and were still the better side although looked a bit leggy playing in the heat of another glorious spring day.

The defence stood strong with limited chances falling to Bridges forwards. It was the defence again that got the winner for Burlington. A short corner kick taken by Carl and Jermain led to the ball being crossed to the back post that Ade Hughes got on the end of with a controlled header making it 2-1.

A few more chances could have been converted and Burlington comfortably saw the game out for another victory. Promotion is still a chance and another performance like this with a few more opportunities being taken makes the run-in to the season exciting.

Word of thanks to Jermain, Abdul and Neil who stepped in and are welcome down any time. And good to see Dom and Dave making it down despite being injured.
