Burton Grove or Riverside Inn as we were first known were founded in 2001.
The team was formed following a group of friends meeting up regularly for a kick around at the Stour Centre.
Graham Dunkerley contacted the league and registered the team while Gareth Holloway sorted out a pitch and funding in the form of sponsorship from the Riverside Inn pub in south Ashford.
The first season for Riverside Inn was a real learning curve, with many of the squad not having played Sunday league before.
The first game of the season was one of the real highlights, a 4-3 victory against Kennington.
Riverside finished the season in a respectably mid table with 20 points. James Ross netting an impressive 25 goals and winning the 4th Division Player of the Season.
Dean Spurrell won the Players Player of the Season, narrowly beating Toby Wright.
The second season saw one of transition for the club. Our first manager Paul left, as did key player Toby Wright. We finished the season 7th out of 9 with 13 points.
Highlights of the season were an Ashford Cup Semi Final and 10-3 opening game victory verses Charing Reserves.
James Ross again finished top scorer with 18 goals, assisted by midfielders Dean Spurrell (14) and John Honey (9).
Stuart Prior won the Player Player of the Season with Phil Inglis winning Young Player of the Season.
The third season saw a new manager, Paul Copley, and an improvement in results.
Riverside Inn finished 5th with 27 points and an appearance in the Division 4 Cup Final.
James Ross again was top of the scoring charts and Andy Kemp won the Players Player of the Season.
Riverside Inn's fourth season was our best yet, finishing 3rd with an amazing 46 points including 22 victories along the way.
The highlights were a Shebar Cup Semi Final which included beating 4 higher division sides and PROMOTION TO DIVISION 3!
Chris Burrows finished top scorer with 23 goals. Andy Neal (17) and Vinny Day (15) also weighed in.
Andy Perham won Players Player of the Season, Phil Inglis won the Managers award and Matt Shellock won the Supporters vote.
