Buxton Christians picked up their first league win of the season with a 7 goal hammering of 10 man Calver. Christians were ahead after 15 seconds when scott Beswick found Craig owen with a perfect through ball and Owen superbly beat the keeper with a low shot.Christians scored 2 more before half time, firstly when Owen teed up Harris for a simple finish and then a screamer from owen from 20 yards.
It continued to be 1 way traffic after the interval and Christians racked up 4 more goals,Stanway from close in,a deflected shot from Dunn,a sweet strike from Beswick and a great header from Harris converting a superb cross from Roberts. Calver were never really in it but kept going gamely and forced Eyre in the Christians goal into a couple of smart saves.
Owen fully deserved the man of the match award although this was, more than anything a fine team performance.
