The Puma’s started quickly with a well-defended ball by Toseland fired forward for Farrelly to open the scoring. A Gilbride corner was well taken by Gemmell for the second. A great interception from Southward saw him finish his own hard work with the Puma’s third. The pressure was kept on the visitors with the keeper spilling a Southward through ball for Farrelly to tap in for the fourth. Efforts from Toseland, Gilbride and Potter all came close but the fifth was scored by Farrelly with a ball juggling run from midfield neatly finished for his hattrick.
The second half continued in the same vein with some solid performances from Baker, Hancock, Rogers and Critchlow. The scoring continued with Gemmell getting the sixth after some good football, which he continued when he scored the games seventh and his hattrick. A Gilbride corner caused mayhem in the opposition’s penalty area, which resulted in an own goal for the eighth. Gilbride was fouled in the penalty area and Potter deftly converted the resulting penalty. The scoring was completed after Lomas headed a Gilbride corner home. It was a great display in goal for Wright as he controlled the area and kept a clean sheet.
Man of match honours were awarded to Gemmell.
