Season Archive

Town land silverware following excellent season.

Buxton Town went into the season with high hopes but an early loss to Dove Holes and a shock defeat against Bradwell meant they were relying on results elsewhere to lift the league title, unfortunately Dove Holes kept their form going and Town had to settle for second spot as they finished two points behind their rivals.
In the Derbyshire Cup Town reached the final for the first time ever but a last minute equaliser saw the match taken into penalties and again it was Dove Holes who pipped them to the crown.
There was glory in the Dore Shield as Town beat Holmesfield 2-1 in the final and the two sides met again in the Lawrence Cup which Town won for the first time in a thrilling 4-3 victory.
At the end of season presentation evening the two main award winners were George Burgess who picked up the players player of the year award while James Mallaband was named as the managers player of the year.
