Season 2002/03 |
London Road began life in the A Division with a 2-2 draw at Buxworth after goals from Steve Wood and Sam Sweetmore.
It was mainly a season of struggle and Road went into the last game of the season needing a point to avoid relegation, It was not going to be easy though as opponents Dronfield Town knew a victory would secure runners up spot for them, However a Mikey Heathcote strike earned Road a 1-1 draw and ensured another season in the A Division.

Season 2005/06 |
This proved to be a fantastic season for Town which was a surprise because they suffered several serious injurys, Danny Ball broke his ankle in pre-season, Rick Lomas broke a foot, Mark Balfe broke his leg in early January and the Rob Green suffered ankle ligament damage in the last game of the season and looks unlikely to play again.
Town made some very good signings in the summer when they brought in youngsters Andy Jackson, Richard Mirams and Colin Moss and all three went on to have excellent seasons.
Dove Holes proved to be a bogey team though as they won the league with Town finishing in 2nd, Dove also knocked Town out of the Dore Shield at the semi-final stage and although Town forced extra time in the Derbyshire Cup tie it was Dove again who came out on top.

Season 2007/08 |
Town began the season with seven straight victories before a surprise defeat at an under strength Tideswell, they got back on track and had an excellent run in the Derbyshire Cup before losing to a late penalty at Dronfield Town in the semi-finals, Town again reached the Dore Shield final but went down 2-1 against Tintwistle, A horrendous injury list eventually took its toll in April as they looked favourites to win the league for the first time but they had to settle for third place as Brampton won the league and Whaley Bridge came second.
Town's season was memorable for Mark Balfe as he impressed in a trial match against Unibond Premier side Buxton and became the first Town player to make the move into semi-pro football.
The end of the season also brought the end of Buxton Town as they decided to make the move out of Buxton due to lack of facilities and merge with Tideswell Utd.
