A great result that continues our good form of late. Our 5th victory from our last 7 and our 7th game unbeaten.
With several changes enforced due to the absence of Godwin, Baker, Jones and Betts and niggling injuries to Parker and Butcher meant recalls for McKenzie, Piotrowski, Ellet and Williams.
A very competitive opening to the game saw some mighty challenges to which neither side gave an inch. A very close game in the opening 15 minutes.
The Deadlock was broken by the visitors the no9 getting a snap shot off across goal that ran out to the edge of the area, the 7 given too much time to return the ball into the danger area where McKenzie could only divert the ball into his own net. 0-1 21mins
Cadbury responded and drew level less than 10 minutes later, good work down the right and a fantastic deep cross from Ellet found Parkes at the back post for a simple finish 1-1.
A few half chances followed for both teams but none that tested either of the keepers.
HT 1-1
The second half started with Bolehall trying to get on the front foot but we stood firm and defended well. We were looking particularly bright in the wide areas where Ellet and Parkes were enjoying good possession.
It was a foul on Parkes that resulted in us going ahead. A free kick 25 yards from Goal was hammered into the top corner by Piotrowski 2-1 56mins.
Moments later we extended our lead, good play from Ellet and Williams saw the ball rolled to Pampols, he floated the ball perfectly onto the head of Parkes who did the rest 3-1 60mins.
Bolehall responded with a substitution, however the momentum was with us and again Parkes was the architect running some 45 yards through and beyond tackles before being brought down in the area for a penalty. On hatrick he was offered the ball by regular taker Pilgrim, unfortunately he didn’t take his chance and his effort flew over.
We introduced Bellingham for Williams on 62. Bolehall made 2 further changes in their attempt to grab a lifeline.
They began delivering balls longer and longer and tried to exert more pressure within our 18 yard box, but we stood firm.
Butcher replaced Ellet on approx 70 mins.
Pilgrim was replaced by Roberts on 82 mins.
On approx 83 minutes Bolehall had a good shout for a penalty waved away as McKenzie seemed to tug the Bolehall no8, whilst there protests got louder and louder we broke the length of the pitch with Bellingham released into the area and he made no mistake with the finish 4-1 84mins.
The protests continued and the Bolehall substitute was given a straight Red for dissent.
87 minutes saw Deeming break from midfield link with Bellingham before knocking the ball into the path of Butcher who struck a first time effort from 20 yards into the right corner 5-1.
FT 5 - 1
This was 3 Points fully deserved.
