Acregate Game Sunday 7th Sept (04/09/2008) |
Please note the above game has been postponed due to waterlogged pitch. Cadley Pools will only operate on the Sundays when we actually play, as that is the only opportunity for most players to fill in the forms. Watch this space for all the latest team info. |

Lucozade Sports Premier League (18/08/2008) |
As you will know by now we have been selected to take part in the Lucozade Sports Performance League. This is fantastic news for our club as it means that we get a new kit, lots of Lucozade sports performance products and the chances to win tickets for Barclays Premier league matches, together with a visit from a sports consultant at a time to be arranged. We could even get to play a match at a Premier club stadium if we succeeed in the League! The league consists of 80 teams similar to our own and all results are logged in every week. Points are earned for wins, draws, goals scored etc. Team members will be encouraged to log onto the Lucozade site to check our progress and may receive e-mails from Lucozade from time to time. We will issue more details as and when we get them from Lucozade. |
Training - A player's view..... (16/08/2008) |
This is a comment from a squad player. - I think that if u dont train u dont play. This will then show who is keen 2 make an impression.. -Players should b rewarded with a start if they train and show commitment. Says it all really ...... |
Signing on fee. (14/08/2008) |
Don't forget, if you do not intend to pay your subs by direct debit you must pay a £20 signing on fee.If we did not have a direct debit scheme in place then everyone would have to pay this at the start of the season. This money goes towards such fixed outgoings as Insurance, Pitch Fees, Referee & Linesman fees etc. Please see Alison asap if this applies to you. |
Training (14/08/2008) |
Thursday 14th August. Well, tonight was the last training session before the big kick off on Sunday and we had the grand total of 9 squad players present. Lots of comments recently regarding which player should get a start etc, but to be honest it's just the same faces every Thursday at the moment. We understand that players have commitments, but considering we have 21 players signed on its a little worrying to see such poor numbers week in week out. I know I sound a bit like the boring teacher that I am, but I'm goin to say it anyway - MUST DO BETTER! |
Direct Debits. (12/08/2008) |
In recent years our club has gone from strength to strength both on and off the pitch. Our financial stability has largely been brought about by introducing a direct debit system to collect subs from players, a system which has been adopted and used to good effect by other clubs in the area. We have kept the monthly subscription to £15 again this season which we think is great value for money when you consider that Cadley’s under 11 team are charging their players the same amount! We still have a number of players who do not subscribe by direct debit and this causes more administrative duties for Alison, i.e chasing up subs constantly from unreliable payers! It is our ambition to have all players signed up for direct debit. Don’t forget it is only the price of one decent drink in town per week, and you always get a wedge of cash back at the end of the season , so if you are not already on board with the rest of the lads, please ask Alison for a direct debit form. You know it makes sense……….. |
It’s got to be a squad game! (12/08/2008) |
With over 18 quality players signed on it is inevitable that we have no choice but to adopt a system which will ensure that all players get their fair share of games over the course of the season. We therefore ask you to accept that the manager will have some tough decisions to make as regards team selection on a match to match basis, and we hope that you all will support him fully in those decisions. We all know how tough the gaffer’s job can be and this is one important area in which all players can relieve pressure by having a little patience and understanding. Good luck for the new season! |
Individual Awards 2008 / 09 (12/08/2008) |
Individual awards this season will consist of Manager’s Player, Player’s Player, Leading Goal-scorer, Performance of the Season and three Outstanding Season awards. The majority of these awards need no explanation, but the Manager’s Player will take into account the following: Consistency of performance, Reliability, Loyalty to the club and Sportsmanship. As you will gather, the trophy need not necessarily go to the player with the most Man of the Match awards. |
