A new coat of paint and some new signs bring the stand up to scratch, the image of the whole club is changing on and off the pitch, all for the better we hope.
Caerau Ely Today Season 2007/08
Last season saw the coming together of Caerau Ely and the youth of the very successful Llanishen Dons football club. Caerau without a representative side in the youth league approached Mike Jones the Manager of Llanishen to invite them to join the Caerau set up. The advantages for Llanishen were obvious in that they could play at a very good level and the advantages for Caerau were that they would have a new group of young players for the future.
The first season saw the youngsters finish third in the East division and also saw an amount of players move up and take their place in the senior side. This year we have big hopes for the club and have set goals for all three teams to reach there highest ever positions in their leagues.
The ground has had plenty of work carried out throughout summer and the introduction of a club house is immanent, we have also introduced a two hundred club for players, family and friends these will hopefully help provide much needed funding for a club that has had it's share of financial issues in the past.
We have formed over the last year a committee, which is driving the club forward, and hopefully taking us all to bigger and better things. We realise that we have to work hard on our discipline on the field and have to change the image of the club, which in the past has not always been the best.
We can all take responsibility for our own actions and if we all work hard we can become one of the most successful and respected sides in the Welsh Football League.
