Caerwys FC have been existence since the turn of the century. Formerly known as Caerwys Town which was later dropped to just Caerwys, the club has had teams in the Halkyn Mountain League in the 1950's, the Llandyrnog & District Summer League since the 1960's, the Clwyd League since 1983, the Clwyd Junior League from 1997 until 2007, the Welsh Alliance League from 2000 to 2008 and also the Cheshire Veterans League.
