Caerwys FC have been existence since the turn of the century. Formerly known as Caerwys Town which was later dropped to just Caerwys, the club has had teams in the Halkyn Mountain League in the 1950's, the Llandyrnog & District Summer League since the 1960's, the Clwyd League since 1983, the Clwyd Junior League from 1997 until 2007, the Welsh Alliance League from 2000 to 2008 and also the Cheshire Veterans League. The Club currently runs senior teams in the Clwyd League East formed in 2011/12 following the boundary changes with all Flintshire teams becoming members of the North East Wales Area Association; the Clwyd League Combination Reserve Division also formed in 2011/12 and the Llandyrnog & Dist Summer League
