Sunday Team - St Neots League
30 Jun 2007

Cambourne Rovers Sunday FC was established in 2002 by a group of players in the new settlement of Cambourne. Initial membership grew rapidly, with players meeting for a kickabout on the Great Cambourne meadow. The club was formalised by founding Club Chairman Trevor Colchester, Club Treasurer Matt Glaister, Club Secretary Nic Pillinger, Club Captain John McHattie and Junior Representative Andy Weeks, all ably supported by Nobby Simmons and Tony Bramwell.

The team entered the St Neots League in the 2003-04 season. Despite failing to make an impact in the first competitive campaign the club began to flourish - and the results have continued to improve season on season.

The St Neots Sunday side won promotion in 2006-07 and now play in the St Neots and District Sunday Football League Division 1.

Saturday 1st Team

The Saturday Team was established more than forty years ago, as a factory team for the former Shering Agrochemicals site in Harston. In 2005 the Bayer FC side (which was represented at the time by many players living in the village of Cambourne) was incorporated into the flourishing Cambourne Rovers Football Club.

After winning promotion in 2006-07 the Saturday 1st Team now play in the Cambridgeshire Football League BIS Division 1A.
